My intention is to support clients in becoming more aware of the thoughts, beliefs and feelings that shape their view of themselves and the world around them. In doing so, they develop a greater sense of wholeness and integration within themselves, in relationships, and in how they relate to the world in general. As well, a positive outcome of therapy includes a greater awareness of inner resources and innate strengths, self-confidence, a sense of unconditional worth, and an experience of health and fullness of being.
I may suggest EMDR to help deepen the therapeutic process, resolve post-traumatic effects, or deepen and consolidate a positive state or image. I may also use an acupressure procedure called EFT to create a state of relaxation and release certain emotions. EFT has proven its effectiveness in decreasing the intensity of emotions such as anxiety, fear, anger, guilt, and depression. I include information regarding the ‘neuroplasticity’ of the brain and how one can take advantage of properties associated with optimal brain functioning and emotional self-regulation. This knowledge coupled with approaches such as EMDR and EFT help create space for positive states and experiences such as those associated with our natural state of being such as compassion, love, connection, vibrancy, contentment, optimism, and joy.
